Portuguese midfielder Rúben Neves signs with Al-Hilal for 3 seasons

Portuguese midfielder Rúben Neves, captain of Wolverhampton, is the latest big name in European football to decide to venture into Saudi Arabia, having confirmed his transfer to Al-Hilal.

“From Wolves to the greatest team in Asia”, announced the Saudi club on its social networks this Friday, after the player signed a three-year contract.

Neves, 26, leaves Wolverhampton after six seasons in a “record transfer” according to the Premier League club. The value of the operation is estimated at 55 million euros (R$ 286 million at current quotations).

The player’s name was circulating in the European press for a long time, with Barcelona especially interested in his signing.

In Saudi Arabia, Rúben Neves will join his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo (Al-Nassr) and the French Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté (Al-Ittihad).
