The cause of death was a heart attack. “He was in Sochi preparing the team for the Summer Games. His heart became bad, he was hospitalized, the doctors fought for his life, but, unfortunately, he was gone, ”Pavel Rozhkov, president of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC), told the details of the incident.

Under the leadership of Baramidze, the Russian team became the Paralympic champion twice, won silver medals twice and bronze once. In addition, the players won four victories in the world championships and won the European championship.
