Real Madrid announces renewal of defender Nacho Fernández until 2024

O Real Madrid renewed the contract for another part of its cast. Defender Nacho Fernández, who only had a contract with the meringues until the end of the season, extended his contract for another year and will stay with the team until June 2024.

The Spaniard is one of the longest-serving players in the current squad. Nacho arrived at Real in 2001, aged just 11. Today, at 33, the defender has already played 319 games for the team and won 23 titles, including five trophies of the Champions League.

The shirt number 6 of the Madrid team also adds passages for the selection of Spain. Nacho was summoned by coach Luis de la Fuente for the dispute of the League of Nations decision and was crowned champion last Sunday with the victory on penalties over Croatia.

In addition to the defender, Real Madrid currently has the Brazilian Éder Militão, the Austrian David Alaba, the German Antonio Rudiger and the Spaniard Jesús Vallejo for the central defense. Nacho is also valued for his versatility, being able to play on both sides.
