Former mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov decided to give 5 thousand dollars to Evgeny Zherbaev, who became the champion of Russia in freestyle wrestling. It is reported by Metaratings.
The athlete in the final fight in the weight category up to 70 kilograms was stronger than Inalbek Sheriyev, winning with a score of 9:1. The Russian Championship takes place in Kaspiysk and will end on Saturday, June 24th.
On April 4, the executive committee of the United World Wrestling (UWW) decided to allow Russian athletes to participate in international tournaments. In a statement, the Federation of Greco-Roman, Freestyle and Women’s Wrestling said that the Russians would compete in a neutral status. It is noted that athletes will be allowed to compete subject to the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee.
Nurmagomedov defended his UFC lightweight title three times before retiring. The athlete won 29 victories in 29 professional fights under the rules of MMA. The Russian held his last fight in October 2020, being stronger than the American Justin Gaethje.
