RPL decided to investigate the detention of CSKA fans after the match with Zenit

The Russian Premier League (RPL) will conduct its own investigation of the incident at the match between CSKA and Zenit in Moscow. RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier it became known about the mass arrests of fans of the home team. The RPL pointed out that “the measures taken by the police obviously violated the comfort and endangered the health of people.”

On November 28, after the match of the 16th round of the Russian Football Championship, police officers carried out a mass arrest of fans. Prior to that, fans of the red and blue could not leave the VEB-Arena, which hosted the meeting, for more than an hour. Then the police and riot police gathered at the exit from the sectors, who began to send fans to police vans en masse, and, according to the agency’s source, there were women and minors among the detainees.

Presumably, the actions of the police may be associated with the use of pyrotechnics by CSKA fans during the match.

The CSKA football club issued an official statement after the match, in which it condemned the fans who carried the pyrotechnics into the stadium. At the same time, the club noted that innocent people should not suffer from the actions of several persons.

Also, CSKA promised to make every effort to help those who were not involved in what happened. In addition, the club will provide free legal advice to fans caught in the police force.

In October, police officers dealt harshly with Spartak fans after the match with Zenit in the 12th round of the RPL in St. Petersburg. Then a fan of the Moscow club said that in the interval between the first and second half, about a hundred fans of the Moscow team went to the exit from the stadium, but they refused to let them out.

“Stewards and riot police flew at us. They began to catch those who yelled the loudest, beat everyone with clubs and shockers. They took me to the department. The police officer shouted because someone had leaked this information to the Telegram channel. The guy who is there now has a broken head, ”he stressed.

Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the fans were prosecuted for petty hooliganism.
