Some Basque athletes have already completed their first tests. For example, in BMX Freestyle cycling, Teresa Fernández-Miranda managed to qualify for the final on June 22 after being seventh in the qualifying event.
On the other hand, in the K4-500 meter sprint canoeing test, Nerea García could not reach the final. The irundarra, along with her three teammates, made it to the semifinals, but she stayed just short of the final. One of their footrests broke in the semifinal, which weighed them down for the rest of the race. Thus, they finished fourth and only three qualified for the final.
