Spartak player Quincy Promes will challenge the conviction of the court within two weeks

Spartak football player Quincy Promes will challenge the guilty verdict of the Amsterdam court within two weeks. This was reported to TASS by the lawyer of the foreign player of the Moscow club Robert Malevich.

“The verdict will be appealed within 14 days,” Malevich said. He stressed that the appeal will ask for the annulment of the verdict. The lawyer added that at the moment no final and binding decision has been made.

On June 19, the court sentenced Promes in absentia to 18 months in prison. The 31-year-old attacker was found guilty of involvement in an armed attack and stabbing his cousin. Currently, the player is in Moscow.

Promes returned to Spartak in February 2021. Prior to that, he played for the red and white from 2014 to 2018, becoming the champion of Russia and the owner of the country’s Super Cup with the team.
