A Brazilian Team again conceded four goals in the same game this Tuesday (20), by losing to Senegal 4-2 at Estádio José Alvalade, in Lisbon, for the last friendly match before the start of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
The last time this had happened? July 8, 2014, in Mineirão, for the 2014 World Cup semifinal. On that occasion, Brazil was humiliated by Germany and suffered one of the biggest (symbolically) defeats in its history: 7-1 to rivals.
Such a negative mark was not the only one raised after the setback for Senegal — even when the score was already 3-1 for the African team. After all, the last time that the national team had conceded three goals in the same match was in the dispute for third place in that same Cup, against the Netherlands, in a match that ended with the score 3-0 for the Europeans.

Under coach Tite, Brazil lost just six games. Five of them went by the score of 1 to 0 – the only time the score was not repeated was in the 2018 World Cup, in the 2 to 1 setback to Belgium, which eliminated Amarelinha from that dispute.
The defeat to Senegal was the last game for the Brazilian team before the start of the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup – which begin in September. Brazil debuts in the competition against Bolivia, at home, and then plays Peru away from home.
