Khodyrev also revealed the correct technique for performing the French press. Starting position – standing, feet shoulder-width apart, the back is even and without excessive deflection, the shoulders are lowered down, and the shoulder blades are brought together. Then you need to grab a dumbbell or barbell with two straight hands and lift them up. Next, while inhaling, you need to smoothly bend your elbows to a right angle, lowering the projectile behind your head, and while exhaling, straighten your arms to the top point with a powerful movement. In this case, the elbows should be parallel to each other.
Khodyrev recommended doing the exercise in two or three sets of 8-12 reps, resting between sets for two minutes. The coach emphasized that beginners should take minimal weights.
