The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has assessed the possible admission of Russian athletes to the 2024 Olympic Games in the status of refugees. The commentary of the press service of the organization leads “Match TV”.
The organization called this information meaningless. “The position of the IOC remains absolutely unchanged,” the press service emphasized, recalling the recommendations for the participation of Russians in international tournaments in a neutral status.
Earlier, the All Sport agency announced the decision of the IOC to allow Russian athletes to participate in the Games in Paris as a refugee team. It was noted that for this, athletes would have to fulfill several conditions, including stopping participation in all national competitions and stopping accepting any support from Russian sports organizations.
The Paris Olympic Games are scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The final decision on the admission of Russians to the competition has not yet been made.
