Foreign football player of “Spartak” was sentenced to prison for attacking his brother

Spartak football player Quincy Promes was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison for attacking his brother

An Amsterdam court has issued a verdict in the case of Spartak Moscow striker Quincy Promes about the attack on his cousin. It is reported by Reuters.

The football player was sentenced in absentia to 1.5 years in prison. The player was found guilty of involvement in an armed attack and stabbing a cousin. Currently, the player is in Moscow.

On March 3, Dutch prosecutors requested two years in prison for Promes. Then it was reported that the attacker quarreled with his brother, after which he stabbed him in the knee.

In early January, Dutch prosecutors accused Promes of having links with Surinamese drug dealer Pete Wortel. Then it was noted that the footballer and his relatives invested in a consignment of cocaine with a total weight of 1370 kilograms, which was seized by the Dutch police in April 2020.

Promes returned to Spartak on February 25, 2021. Prior to that, he played for the red and white from 2014 to 2018, becoming the champion of Russia and the owner of the country’s Super Cup with the team.
