Russian MMA fighter Vadim Nemkov said he was happy to defend his Bellator title

Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Vadim Nemkov on Instagram (the social network is banned in the Russian Federation; it belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and banned) commented on the victory over Cuban Yoel Romero at the Bellator 297 tournament.

“I was surprised by Romero – he has a strong head. There were so many hard hits that I landed that I felt through the gloves,” said the 30-year-old athlete. He stressed that he was very happy with the victory, as it was important for him. In his opinion, Romero is a great fighter and a legend.

The fight took place in Chicago on June 17 and lasted all five rounds. The fight ended with the victory of the Russian by unanimous decision of the judges. Thus, the 30-year-old Nemkov defended the Bellator light heavyweight title, which he has held since August 2020.

In total, Nemkov has 17 wins with two defeats in mixed martial arts. Another fight with his participation was declared invalid.
