Russian footballer Magomed-Shapi Suleymanov, who plays for Hapoel from Beer Sheva, explained the suspension for participating in a mass brawl. His words are quoted by Match TV.

The athlete said he did not feel the main culprit. “I wasn’t going to fight or beat anyone. On the replay, you can see: I was the first to be hit on the back of the head, then the response went on, ”he stressed. Suleimanov added that the disqualification affected the continuation of his career in a foreign championship.

The brawl took place on May 1 at the end of the tournament meeting against Maccabi Haifa, which ended with a score of 2: 1 in favor of Hapoel. It is noted that the Russian striker hit Dolev Haziza from Maccabi in the face. For this, the disciplinary authority suspended the 23-year-old athlete for ten matches of the Israeli championship.

Suleimanov is a graduate of the Krasnodar academy and made his professional football debut in 2017. For the first team of Krasnodar, he played 119 matches and scored 23 goals.
