Luis Noboa Ycaza, the former vice-president of Barcelona SC, said that he is analyzing the possibility of being a candidate in the club’s presidential election, which will be held on September 2.

Noboa was part of the administration led by his brother Antonio, and in the 2015 elections he was a candidate, but lost to the duo consisting of José Francisco Cevallos and Carlos Alfaro Moreno.

On Thursday, during a radio interview, the businessman confirmed his desire to be Alfaro Moreno’s successor and revealed that he will seek to end the million-dollar debt the Canaries have.

“I have been studying a way to see how to get Barcelona SC to zero debt and my proposal comes with a check that will end that debt,” he said.

“I think and evaluate each of the points that I need to have a solid presentation of what I think needs to be done for changes at the club, and that takes time,” added Noboa in a conversation with Round radio.

The businessman insisted that everything is a process and that he is taking steps to announce his work plan.

“I announced that I am thinking about it (applying), I have experience, love for the institution as well and I hope that the partners will understand that this is joint work and that it is not revenge, but that we have a project that has the necessary credibility to fulfill it,” he said.

Noboa admitted that he is one of the club’s creditors, but he said that he is aware that the sports entity currently has no way to settle this debt.

“I owe Barcelona SC a very large amount and it’s not like I’m asking the club to pay me today and I’m not asking because he’s not able to,” he said.

“There are other creditors, and I am one of them, who will be looking for something to forgive at that moment, I would enter into negotiations so that Barcelona SC is the one who wins,” he concluded. (D)
