Tennis player Medvedev said he was simply following the rules, speaking under a neutral flag
Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev answered a question about playing under a neutral flag. Tribuna.com reports his words.
Medvedev said that he was simply following the rules, speaking not under the Russian flag. “Those rules, I fully understand them, and therefore I’m just grateful that I can continue to play this way. So I just want to show the best qualities every day, ”he said.
Medvedev ranks third in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). Compatriots Andrei Rublev and Karen Khachanov are in seventh and tenth places, respectively. Thus, the athletes set a historic achievement – three representatives of Russia were in the top 10 at once.
ATP and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) did not completely remove the Russians and Belarusians. They continue to participate in tournaments in a neutral status.
