O Bayern Munchen will have to allocate 200 thousand euros (about R$ 1 million at the current exchange rate) to retroactive payments for not having respected the legislation on minimum wages at Campus, its training center, between November 2016 and November 2021, announced this Thursday- Munich customs authorities fair.
“The club cooperated with us, the process is closed. The case for us is closed,” Thomas Meister, spokesman for the central customs in Munich, told the German sports news agency. SIDbranch of AFP.
The investigation began in November 2021 and found that “the club did not pay the minimum wage at its training centre”, authorities explained in a statement.
In addition to the 200,000 euros in retroactive payments, Bayern must pay 45,500 euros (R$239,000) in social contributions and arrears, it said.
“Bayern never intended to deprive its workers of an authorized salary,” the club said in the statement, specifying that it will pay the amount claimed by the tax authorities.
