Former Liverpool midfielder James Milner joins Brighton

Brighton announced on Wednesday the signing of 37-year-old England midfielder James Milner for a season, Liverpool. Revealed by Leeds, the midfielder also played for Newcastle, Aston Villa and manchester city. The player is the third player with the most games played in the history of the English Championship (619).

“I am delighted to welcome James to Brighton. He is a very good signing for us and I am sure he will help us reach a higher level,” said the team’s manager, Italian Roberto de Zerbi.

Throughout his career, Miliner conquered Champions League, Club World Cupthree Premier Leagues, the UEFA Super Cup, two FA Cups, two English League Cups and two FA Super Cups.

“I wanted to say how delighted I am to be joining the club. It’s an exciting team, with a top manager and it’s a great time to arrive, with the first season in Europe coming up. I can’t wait to put the shirt on,” said Milner in video published by the English team.

Brighton, who had a surprising campaign and finished sixth in the Premier League, will play the Europa League next season. Since its foundation in 1901, this will be the team’s first time in a continental competition.
