Since last June 4, Barcelona SC has been without a first coach following the resignation of Argentinian Fabián Bustos, after the Toreador fell 3-1 at the Banco Pichincha Stadium against Emelec.

After the departure of Bustos, the dance of names of possible replacements began to circulate in the national press. While Segundo Alejandro Castillo and Pablo Trobbiani lead the team.

However, Carlos Alejandro Moreno, the Toreador president, denied that the management had made any offer to the coach.

This is because the current management will be done with management this season as there will be elections in the coming months (which would be in September).

“We didn’t plan to review the coaches’ maps, so I want to deny that Barcelona SC made suggestions to any coach,” he said.

“Our first option is that this professional staff (led by Castillo) can stay until the end of the year. This is our priority,” he added in a radio interview Caravan.

The manager indicated that a possible new coach is currently being awaited and insisted that the goal is to qualify for an international tournament.

“We are currently in wait to look for DT and we want the coaching staff to be good,” he said.

“We want to finish as high as possible in the Pro League and be able to qualify for an international tournament. This is the short-term goal of this board of directors,” added the Toreador president.

As for reinforcements in the second phase of the national tournament, Alfaro Moreno indicated that two new reinforcements will be sought in “specific positions”. (D)
