Flamengo coach Renato Portaluppi said he does not envision a favorite in the 2021 Copa Libertadores final against defending champion Palmeiras on Saturday at the Centenario Stadium.
“I don’t see favorites. They are two great teams, the last champions of the Libertadores ”, said DT also known as Renato Gaúcho at a press conference in Montevideo.
“A final of Libertadores is for few. I have that privilege today, ”he added, before assuring that they should not give Palmeiras a chance. “We have a very strong team on the other side,” he added.
The coach of the Mengo, which returns to a final in the same stadium where the club won its first Libertadores in 1981, was pleased to be in front of a “wonderful” team and pointed out that both finalists reached this stage on their own merits.
Before making the recognition of the field in which they will play the final game today, Renato Gaúcho assured that his players are prepared and that they have trained considering variables.
