Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira considered that the biggest adversary his players will have in the 2021 Copa Libertadores final against Flamengo on Saturday will be their own head.

For the Portuguese DT, in a match of this caliber, in which the best club in the American continent will be devoted, “30% is tactical” and “another 70% comes from here,” he said, pointing to his temple at a press conference.

“The greatest adversary is within each one of us,” he said, before adding that the greatest request of his players is that they be “faithful to their game” and that they do so “collectively.”

The coach of the reigning champion of America, whose team will seek the third trophy in its history, added that he hopes his team will focus and be aware of the moment they will live.

I want them to be “focused from the first to the last second, to enjoy themselves, to provide a great show.”

At his side, midfielder Felipe Melo, agreed by stating that “98% of the players who play in South America would give everything to be here”, playing the final match of the main club tournament in the region.

After the press conference, the Verdao carried out the reconnaissance of the field at the Centenario stadium in the Uruguayan capital, scene of the expected clash, where the Flamengo team later did it before also appearing before the journalists. (D)
