Real Madrid goalkeeper Elene Lete, defenders Irene Paredes (FC Barcelona) and Oihane Hernández (Athletic) and Real Madrid midfielder Maite Oroz are the four players from Euskal Herria who are in the pre-list of the Spanish team for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealandwhich begins on June 20, as announced on Monday by Jorge Vilda, the coach of the Spanish team.
Lete, Paredes, Hernández and Oroz, as well as the other 26 shortlisted players, are competing for one of the final positions to compete in the World Championship, which will take place between July 20 and August 20 and in which Spain is framed in group C, along with Costa Rica, Zambia and Japan.
