Died 16-year-old Russian hockey player

Valentin Rodionov, defender of MHC Dynamo and the Russian junior national team, died while in the intensive care unit. This was reported on the club’s website.

The 16-year-old athlete died at the Morodov children’s clinic. Doctors tried to save the hockey player for six days.

On November 23, it was reported that doctors put Rodionov into a coma after the operation. He was admitted to the clinic with a traumatic brain injury. It was also noted that the police began to check the fact of the incident.

Two days earlier, Rodionov fell ill during the Moscow Open Championship match against CSKA. After hitting the side, he returned to the bench and lost consciousness. Rodionov received first aid, the athlete was taken to the clinic.

In September 2020, the death of a 16-year-old hockey player in Moscow was reported. The athlete was injured during training at the dacha. He fell off the horizontal bar and hit his head on the concrete floor.
