The author of the goal that gave Manchester City their first Champions League title, Spaniard Rodri Hernández, said this Saturday after the 1:0 defeat by Inter Milan that winning the title was a “dream come true”.
“I’m very excited. This is a dream come true,” he told BT Sports.
“Those guys (their teammates) deserve it, also those people (the fans), who have been waiting for twenty, thirty or forty years. I’ve been here for four years, we deserved it,” he said.
Rodri scored in the 68th minute as City defeated tough Inter.
“What a team we had to deal with! It was incredible how they defended and counter-attacked, they deserve congratulations because they are a great team,” he said.
“I wasn’t good in the first half, I played crap, honestly, but this proves our mentality. I told myself that this situation has to be overcome and in the end I scored a goal. It’s amazing,” he said. (D)
