Russian swimmer Vitalina Simonova on Instagram showed a video in which the honored swimming coach of Russia Alexander Ilyin was detained at Pulkovo airport for refusing to wear a mask.
In the video, the specialist first argues with the airport employee, proving that he is not obliged to wear a mask. Then law enforcement officers approach, who try to convince the coach to reconsider their actions, but he raises his voice and the police take him to the police station.
Ilyin’s arrest became known on November 23. According to Simonova, law enforcement officers knocked the 63-year-old coach to the floor, tied him up and handcuffed him. Ilyin faces administrative responsibility. The trainer is suspected of disobeying the lawful request of a police officer. During the court session, where two administrative protocols drawn up against him were to be considered, Ilyin again refused to put on a mask and was removed from the courtroom.
