A Inter Milan proved to be one of the sensations of the current edition of Champions League. The Italian club reached its sixth Champions League final in its history after qualifying second in Group C, behind Bayern, and beating Porto, Benfica and Milan in the knockout stage.
Team boss Simone Inzaghi is a coach who is only in his second club as head coach. The Italian started his career at the base of Lazio, in 2010, and reached the main squad in 2016 as an interim player, but was soon hired and continued in the team until 2021, when he was hired by Inter Milan. Inzaghi’s current contract runs until June 2024.
Despite the strong performance in the Champions League, Inzaghi had an up and down campaign for much of the season. Internazionale did not impress at the start of the Italian Championship and the 47-year-old captain was contested and even wavered in office. After a sequence of four defeats in eight games in Serie A, which created uncertainty regarding the manager’s project, two victories against Barcelona in the Champions League gave Inzaghi peace of mind to work and focus on the cups.

The Italian has been marked this season by Inter’s success in cups. In addition to the Champions League final, the Milan club had significant campaigns in the national cups and was champion of the Italian Super Cup, over Milan, and the Italian Cup, against Fiorentina.

So far, the Italian coach has four Italian Super Cup titles – two with Lazio (2018 and 2020) and two with Inter (2022 and 2023) – and three Italian Cup titles – one with Lazio (2019) and two with Internazionale (2022 and 2023).
