RFU fined CSKA footballer Roshu for words about Spartak player Sobolev in an interview
The Control and Disciplinary Committee (CDC) of the Russian Football Union (RFU) has decided to fine the Brazilian footballer of CSKA Willian Rocha 50,000 rubles. It is reported by “Sport-Express”.
The player was punished for calling Spartak forward Alexander Sobolev “a clown and a bad person” in an interview with Brazilian journalist Fabio Aleixo. Chairman of the FTC Artur Grigoryants said that the RFU applied to the Brazilian University of Sao Paulo at the Department of Sports Law with a request to evaluate Roshi’s statement.
“We asked if Rocha used the word ‘clown’. In conclusion, it says that yes, I used it. But they explained that this is not an insult, but an assessment of the athlete’s intention when making strange gestures during the game. At the same time, the conclusion says that the expression may have been rude and evaluative, ”added Grigoryants.
Rocha spoke after the CSKA match against Spartak, which took place on May 21 and ended with a score of 2: 1 in favor of the red-whites. In the 65th minute, Sobolev was sent off for an indecent gesture. The football player put two hands to his groin, expressing dissatisfaction with the actions of Roshi, who also received a red card. Later, the removal of the Brazilian was canceled, and the Russian was disqualified for four matches.
