Monaco announced on Wednesday the arrival of Brazilian Thiago Scuro as the club’s new sporting director, replacing Englishman Paul Mitchell.
Thiago, who was at the Red Bull Bragantino since 2018, he will have the “mission to control the sports policy and the sports department of the club from the 1st of July”, according to a statement from the Principality team.
In four years at Massa Bruta, the director helped the team from São Paulo leave the second division of the Brazilian Championship and took it to the final of the Copa Sudamericana em 2021.
Before leaving Monaco permanently, Paul Mitchel will still participate in the selection of the team’s new coach, after the dismissal of Belgian Philippe Clement last Sunday.
Monaco finished the French Championship in sixth position and did not qualify for any European cup next season.
