The International Rowing Federation admitted Russia to tournaments in a neutral status
The International Rowing Federation (World Rowing) allowed the Russians to the tournaments. This was reported on the website of the organization.
Athletes will be able to compete in neutral status. However, not all categories of rowers will be admitted to the World Championship: only singles and doubles will be able to take part in the tournament.
It is noted that the Russians will also have to meet certain criteria: they must not be associated with a special operation in Ukraine or support it. In addition, anti-doping control will be strengthened against them.
On March 28, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that Belarusians and Russians who did not support the special operation in Ukraine be allowed to compete in a neutral status. At the same time, athletes from Russia and Belarus associated with the armed forces or security agencies of their countries are recommended to be suspended from participation in the starts.
