Russian football player Alexander Zuev received a passport of Kazakhstan and was called up to the national team

Russian footballer of “Wings of the Soviets” Alexander Zuev changed his citizenship. His words are quoted by Vesti.kz.

Zuev said that he received a passport of Kazakhstan. “It was quite a long and difficult process. I am very glad that I finally became a citizen of the country in which I was born, ”he shared.

According to Metaratings, after that, the 26-year-old athlete was called up to the Kazakhstan national team. It is noted that at the training camp he will replace Aslan Darabayev.

Zuev has been playing for the Samara Wings of the Soviets since February 2023. As part of the club, he played 13 matches in which he scored one goal. Previously, Zuev played for Rubin, Rostov, Khimki and Spartak, in which he became the champion of Russia in the 2016/2017 season. He also played 14 matches as part of the Russian youth team, in which he scored four goals.

On February 28, 2022, the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments.
