Dynamo player Smolov spoke about the disruption of the transfer to the Turkish Galatasaray due to injury

Dynamo Moscow striker Fedor Smolov spoke on the Nobel YouTube channel about the failed transfer to the Turkish club.

Smolov said that in the summer of 2022 he agreed to negotiate with Galatasaray, talked with the coach and the president of the club. “And exactly at the moment when I found out about it, I got injured. I had damage for three to four weeks, I sent them an MRI and they said they need a striker right now. As a result, this deal did not take place, ”he explained.

On May 31, it became known that 33-year-old Smolov extended his contract with Dynamo until the end of the 2023/2024 season with the possibility of an extension for another year. In the 2022/2023 season, he made 31 appearances for the team in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists.

The forward played for Dynamo from 2006 to 2015, going on loan several times during this time – to the Dutch Feyenoord, Yekaterinburg Ural and Makhachkala Anji. Later, Smolov also played for Krasnodar and the Spanish Celta.
