Óscar Puente, mayor of Valladolid, Spain, recently gave an interview to the program ‘The spar’yes Radio Caderna SER. During the chat, the politician showered criticism on Ronaldo Phenomenonwho owns Real Valladolid.
After expressing all his indignation with yet another relegation of the team – the second in the Brazilian’s management -, the mayor still accused the former striker about the fate of an investment made by the city hall.
“Ronaldo’s big problem is that he really doesn’t even know where he is. He doesn’t even know the country he lives in or the city he landed in. In Spain, what he wants is not possible. I reached an agreement with him and it is pending signature. The city hall of Valladolid put 5 million euros (about R$ 26.2 million) that went to the club. What the club did, I have no record”, he explained.
O Real Valladolidbought by Fenômeno in September 2018, fell back to the second division of Spanish football this Sunday, after drawing 0-0 with Getafe in the last round of The league – and needed a simple victory not to fall. The club finished the competition in 18th place, just one point behind Almería, which was in 17th place.

Óscar Puente said he was disappointed with yet another relegation of his favorite team. “I’m very sad, not because of Ronaldo’s words, because I’ve been a Valladolid fan for as long as I can remember. The Ronaldo of today, well, it doesn’t surprise me. I was listening and it was kind of mind-blowing.”
“It is not analyzed who led the team to relegation twice in four years. There is no one at the conference to take the blame, the responsibilities. On the contrary, there is a distribution of blame for all sectors”, concluded the mayor of Valladolid.
