Philadelphia Flyers NHL club traded Russian hockey player Ivan Provorov to Columbus
The Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL) have traded Russian defender Ivan Provorov. This was reported on the team’s website.
The hockey player will continue his career with the Columbus Blue Jackets in the regular season of the 2023/2024 season. Provorov has two more years left on a six-year, $40.5 million contract he signed with Philadelphia in September 2019.
In April, Philadelphia recognized Provorov as the best defender in the 2022/2023 season. The athlete received this title for the fourth time. Previously, he was named the best defender of the club in 2018, 2020 and 2021. During the season, Provorov played 81 matches as part of the team and scored 26 points in the “goal plus pass” system.
Provorov has been playing for Philadelphia since 2016. In total, he played 495 matches with the team and scored 61 goals.
