Athletic confirms that Ander Capa will not continue at the club

Ander Capa will not continue as an Athletic player, as announced by the Bilbao club on Tuesday. The Portugalete side signed a contract for two seasons in July 2022, but the Biscayan entity had the option of reducing it to just one, and they have decided to assert that option. Capa has played a total of five seasons for Athletic, with 112 official matches.
The Biscayan footballer joined the rojiblanco team in 2018, from Eibar, and was regularly fielded by Gaizka Garitano and Marcelino in the 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. He counted a little less for Eduardo Berizzo, at the start of the 2018-19 campaign, and practically nothing for Marcelino in the 2021-22 season and for Ernesto Valverde in the recently completed 2022-23 season.
Capa is the fourth player that Athletic has confirmed in the last hours that he is leaving the team, after Iñigo Martínez, Ander Iru and Oier Zarraga.
