The head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin admitted that he would talk with the former coach of the national team Stanislav Cherchesov before the match with Poland. The specialist assessed the possibility of dialogue in an interview with Championship.com.
According to Karpin, he can turn to Cherchesov for advice, as he is well acquainted with Polish football. “There is no internal or external prohibition on this. We talked with some of them by phone, until the end of the championship we will communicate and see many, ”the specialist added.
The Russian national team will play with Poland on March 24 in the semifinal play-off match of the 2022 World Cup qualification. To get into the final part of the World Cup, Karpin’s team, in addition to defeating the Poles, will need to beat the best team in the Sweden – Czech Republic pair.
Cherchesov has led the Russian national team since 2016. In the summer of 2021, Karpin replaced him in this post.
