Coach Christophe Galtier will not continue in charge of the Paris Saint Germain next season, said a source close to the negotiations this Monday, confirming news already circulating in the French press.
After leading the team to the Ligue 1 title, Galtier, 56, will leave PSG, as reported last Saturday by the newspaper The Team. Contacted by AFP, the coach’s lawyer declined to comment on the situation.
After celebrations for the French title on Saturday, Galtier said that at the beginning of the week he would meet with club officials. “We will then see what decisions the board will make.”

The coach was hired last year by PSG football advisor Luis Campos, with whom he had already worked at Lille in 2021, when the team won the French Championship.
After a promising start to the season, the team accumulated poor results after the World Cup in Qatar, with 10 defeats among all competitions in 2023 and, mainly, the elimination in the round of 16 of the Champions League for the Bayern Munchen.

Another emblematic failure of PSG that helped in the decision to dismiss Galtier was the elimination in the round of 16 of the French Cup for the great rival, Olympique de Marseille.
