Figure skaters Shcherbakova and Trusova were not included in the Russian national team for the 2023/2024 season
The composition of the national figure skating team for the 2023/2024 season has become known. It is reported by “Championship” with reference to the website of the Ministry of Sports of Russia.
Olympic champion Anna Shcherbakova and silver medalist of the 2022 Games Alexandra Trusova were not included in the national team. The lists of single skaters include Kamila Valieva, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, Sofia Akatieva, Adelia Petrosyan, Anastasia Zinina and Sofia Muravieva.
Shcherbakova is the owner of the gold of the 2022 Games in the individual tournament. She also has one victory in the personal and team world championships, three victories in the Russian championship, two silver medals in the European championship. The athlete missed the 2022/2023 season.
Trusova is the silver medalist of the Beijing Games. In doing so, she set a historic achievement by jumping five quadruple jumps in the free skate. The figure skater also has a bronze medal at the World Championship and two bronze medals at the European Championship. She has not competed since November 2022.
