Uruguay defeats the United States and faces Israel in the U-20 World Cup semifinals

This Sunday, the under-20 World Cup met the last team classified to the semifinals of the competition. At Santiago del Estero Stadium, in Argentina, the Uruguay won the USA, by 2 to 0 and advanced to the stage. The goals were scored by Duarte and Wynder (against).

The team now faces Israel, who beat Brazil this Saturday, 3-1, in overtime. The other semifinal match will be played between Italy and South Korea, which will take place this Thursday at 6 pm. The Italians advanced by beating Colombia, by 3 to 1. Korea, on the other hand, took the vacancy by beating Nigeria, by 1 to 0.

Uruguay opened the scoring in the 21st minute of the first half. De los Santos took advantage of the launch in front, left the marking, advanced in the area, crossed and Duarte took the opportunity to fill the net. Early in the second half, the United States had a dangerous free kick, but did not capitalize on the chance. On the detour, Cowell sent it out.

The South American team had an own goal to extend the lead. Again, De los Santos was well activated, crossed in the area and saw Wynder divert to his own goal. Shortly after, the United States tried to reduce it, but Rodriguez made a good defense, avoiding Cowell’s goal.
