On the other hand, Braga is one of the big surprises in Portuguese football this season. Coach Artur Jorge’s team managed to perform well in the league and finished third, securing a spot in the preliminary round of the Champions League.
To advance in the cup, the club had to pass through some quarries on the way. In its campaign, Braga eliminated Felgueiras (3rd phase), Moreirense (4th phase), Vitória de Guimarães (eighth finals), Benfica (quarterfinals) and Nacional de Funchal (semifinals).
Defending champions, Porto are looking for their 19th Portuguese Cup title. Braga, on the other hand, won the tournament title on three occasions, the last of them in 2021. The biggest champion of the cup is Benfica, who has already lifted the trophy 26 times.
