Led by German Ilkay Gundogan, Manchester City, already champion of the Premier League, won the FA Cup this Saturday (3) by defeat Manchester United 2-1 in the finalat Wembley.
The ‘Citizens’ opened the scoring just 13 seconds into the game with Gundogan, who hit a beautiful first-time shot to score the fastest goal in history in an FA Cup final.
The Portuguese Bruno Fernandes equalized for United with a penalty before the break (33′), but Gundogan scored the winning goal for City early in the second half (51′).
“We knew how we wanted to play from the beginning and we tried to apply it, with launches for Erling (Haaland) and trying to recover the second ball. The spare came to me and I just had to shoot”, the German told the BBC after the match.

After being behind on the scoreboard, the ‘Red Devils’ pressed until the final whistle, but failed to score to try to win both domestic cups in the same season, after having been champions of the English League Cup.
“It was a very balanced game, we were very competitive and organized against the best team in the world today,” acknowledged United manager Erik Ten Hag.
