The technician of Real MadridCarlo Ancelotti, said this Saturday (3) that he “has no doubts” about the continuity of French striker Karim Benzema at the club, which will have changes in the squad for next season.
“Benzema is ready to play tomorrow [contra o Athletic Bilbao, na última rodada do Campeonato Espanhol]has recovered very well and has a year left on his contract, so we have no doubts”, said Ancelotti at a press conference.
According to the coach, “the legends of the club [como Benzema] have to retire at Real Madrid. I think that’s the thinking of all the fans and the club, but then comes the player’s thinking”.
In recent days, rumors have surfaced about a possible departure of Benzema for football in Saudi Arabia, which the player himself denied last Thursday, at an event by the newspaper Marca.
“Why am I going to talk about the future if I’m in Madrid? The internet is talking, and reality is not the internet”, said Benzema.
Ancelotti admitted, on the other hand, that there will be departures and arrivals at Real Madrid: “It will be a squad with some different players, but it will be competitive”. The Italian coach declined to give further details and only confirmed the hiring of left-back Fran García, from Rayo Vallecano.
“He’s a player we like,” said Ancelotti, who declined to discuss the possible return of midfielder Brahim Díaz, on loan at Milan: “I can’t speak at the moment.”
The merengue commander also avoided talking about the supposed interest in the English striker Harry Kane.

“I am not going to talk about the future of the squad, which is in progress. Kane is a great player, he is a Tottenham player. We have to respect the player and Tottenham”, he said.
Finally, Ancelotti reiterated his continuity at Real Madrid next season, even with the interest of the Brazilian national team in his signing.
“The note I give myself is positive, but I’m sure I’ll do better next year,” he concluded.
