Fiorentina beats Sassuolo for the Italian in the last commitment before the European decision

Opening the last round of Italian Championship, Fiorentina beat Sassuolo away from home by 3-1, at the Città del Tricolore stadium. The Brazilian Arthur Cabral opened the scoring of the match and Saponara, Nico González and Berardi completed the result.

With the result, Fiorentina ends the A league with 56 points, in eighth place on the table. If Juventus lose more points as a punishment by the Court of the Italian Federation, the team from Florence can enter the qualifying zone for European competitions.

The away victory gives confidence to Fiorentina, who face West Ham, from England, this Wednesday, in the Conference League final. The decision will be held at the Eden Arena, in Prague, in the Czech Republic, starting at 4 pm (Brasília time).

The game

In this Friday’s match, Fiorentina opened the scoring with Brazilian Arthur Cabral, formerly of Palmeiras, in the first minute of the second half. The home team drew with Domenico Berardi, from the penalty spot, in the 26th minute of the final stage.

However, Sassuolo’s reaction stopped there. Midfielder Riccardo Saponara scored a goal in the 34th minute to put Fiorentina back in front. In the following minutes, Brazilian defender Ruan, formerly of Grêmio, received a second yellow card and was expelled.

In the 38th minute of the second stage, Nicolás González scored Fiorentina’s third goal and closed the away victory score. At the end of the match, Brazilian winger Rogerio received a straight red card and was also expelled.
