Former MMA fighter Fedor Emelianenko said he would like to hold a boxing match
Former mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Fedor Emelianenko expressed his desire to hold a boxing match. His words are quoted by TASS.
“Boxing is possible, it’s interesting, but we haven’t worked on it yet. Heard that Roy Jones was willing, I’d be interested. I would like to have a real fight, not an exhibition one, ”he said.
Emelianenko also noted that he would definitely not return to MMA. “But with mixed martial arts, everything. I promised my family and friends [президенту Bellator] Scott Cocker, injuries are already making themselves felt, ”said the ex-fighter.
On February 5, Fedor Emelianenko lost to Ryan Bader by knockout in the first round. The fight, which led the Bellator 290 tournament and became a farewell for the Russian, was held in heavyweight. At stake was the title of champion of the organization, which was owned by an American.
The defeat was the seventh in Emelianenko’s career. He has 40 victories to his credit, another fight with his participation was declared invalid. The Russian owned the titles of champion organizations Pride and RINGS.
