Ukrainian tennis player Kostyuk condemned the decision to boycott tournaments with the participation of Russians
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk condemned the decision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the country to participate in tournaments with the Russians. Her words are quoted by TSN.ua.
The athlete said that she does not agree with the decision of the department to boycott competitions with the Russians, despite the fact that she is fighting against their participation. She added that Ukrainians are supported by Poles, British, Australians and Czechs.
Earlier, Kostyuk was dissatisfied with the whistle addressed to her by the Roland Garros fans for refusing to shake hands with the Belarusian Arina Sabolenko.
On April 14, the Ministry of Sports of Ukraine banned Ukrainian athletes from participating in competitions with Russians and Belarusians. In response, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said that the Ukrainian government does not have the right to decide which athletes can participate in international competitions.
