Beneil Dariush says the UFC promised to give him a fight with Makhachev if Oliveira was removed
American mixed style fighter (MMA) Beneil Dariush spoke about the promise of the representatives of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to give him a fight with Russian Islam Makhachev. The athlete’s words are quoted by MMAJunkie.
“I was assured that if the fight with [Чарльзом] Oliveira fails again, then I am guaranteed to get a title fight with Makhachev, ”Dariush said. He expressed hope that he would defeat the Brazilian and travel to Abu Dhabi to fight the Russian fighter.
The fight between Oliveira and Dariush was supposed to take place on May 7, but the Brazilian withdrew due to an injury. The meeting is scheduled for June 10th.
31-year-old Makhachev is the owner of the UFC lightweight championship belt. On account of the 31-year-old Russian 24 wins with one defeat. In his last fight on February 12, Makhachev was stronger than the Australian Alexander Volkanovski and defended his title for the first time. The 34-year-old Dariush has 22 wins and four losses.
