The Russian national team commented on the decision of Arsenal to remove the post-congratulations to Arshavin
The Russian national football team appreciated the decision of the press service of the London Arsenal to delete a post with congratulations to former football player of the club Andrei Arshavin. This was reported on the organization’s page in Twitter.
“You can delete a post, but not erase your history,” the press service of the Russian national team commented on the situation. The team attached a screenshot of the deleted post to the post.
Earlier on May 29, the London club published a post with congratulations on the occasion of Arshavin’s birthday. “We wish you a good day, Andrei,” the team wished. The post was later deleted due to criticism from Ukrainian fans.
Arshavin played for Arsenal from 2009 to 2013. He made 105 appearances for the club, scoring 23 goals. The 42-year-old midfielder is also known for playing for the Russian national team. Together with the national team, he won bronze medals at Euro 2008.
