Spartak coach Guillermo Abascal gave his son the Russian name Guillermo Nikolay
The head coach of Spartak, Guillermo Abascal, after the match of the 29th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) against Pari Nizhny Novgorod, said that he had given his son a Russian name. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The Spanish specialist said he named his son Guillermo Nicolai. He emphasized that he learned the meaning of the name and wanted to pay tribute to the country in which he works. “He is also red, like me. We are saving the redhead race,” the 34-year-old coach joked.
In April, Abascal married his fiancee Alejandra in Moscow. The couple had their first child.
On June 30, 2022, Abascal explained the decision to work in Russia. The specialist said that he was worried about moving to the country, but he was convinced of the safety of being in Russia.
Abascal headed Spartak in the summer of 2022. Before the last round of the RPL, the red-whites are in third place in the standings with 54 points.
