“If Kroos is okay, the coach is more relaxed,” says Ancelotti

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was pleased this Wednesday after qualifying for the Round of 16 of the Champions League after beating Sheriff Tiraspol 3-0, with a brilliant performance from Toni Kroos and the midfielders.

“If Kroos is fine, the coach is more relaxed, he handles the ball like no one else,” Ancelotti said at the post-match press conference.

The merengue coach praised midfield teammates Luka Modric and Casemiro. “This combination between the three is spectacular. In the last matches (Kroos) also scored goals, it’s very good,” added Ancelotti about the German midfielder, who scored one of his team’s goals.

The Italian coach considered that his team’s game was “serious, good” and showed quality.

“I’m satisfied, we’ve overcome this group stage, we have a game ahead of us and we want to win it to reach the top (in the round of 16). We continued in a good dynamic,” he said.

Ancelotti was reassuring about defender David Alaba, who left the field with a knee problem.

“Alaba had a slight sprain in his knee. It doesn’t seem worrying because he doesn’t feel a lot of pain. He’s doing very well, I hope he can play on Sunday,” said the coach.
