With two ‘lightning goals’, Inter Milan beats Atalanta and assumes the provisional vice-leadership of the Italian

For the 37th and penultimate round of the Italian Championshipthis Saturday (27), the Inter Milan received Atalanta at the San Siro and won by the score of 3 to 2. Lukaku, Barella and Lautaro Martínez scored for the home team, while Pašalić and Onana (against) scored for the visiting team. The duel ended the day’s actions in the international dispute.

With the result, ‘Internazionale’ reached 69 points conquered on the leaderboard, assuming the provisional vice-leadership: campaign of 22 wins, three draws and 12 defeats. If Lazio wins Cremonese this Sunday, Simone Inzaghi’s team will return to third place, however.

In turn, Atalanta said goodbye to the dream of having a place in the Champions League next season. With the setback, the team stands at 61 points, 3 behind Milan, currently fourth. However, the rival has an advantage in the direct confrontation – the first tiebreaker – and cannot be overtaken by Gian Piero Gasperini’s team.

In the next round, the last of Serie A, Simone Inzaghi’s team will go to Olímpico Grande Torino to face the home team, at 10 am (Brasília time) next Saturday. On the same day and time, Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta, in their domains, face Monza.

The match between the teams, this Saturday, started in full swing. Lukaku opened the scoring practically in the first shot of the game and, in the 3rd minute, Barella made it 2-0 for Inter Milan. Before the halftime whistle, Atalanta scored with Pašalić, at 36.

In the second half, Lautaro Martínez — in the 32nd minute — practically confirmed the victory for Inter Milan. Atalanta even scored one more, after an own goal by archer Onana in the final stretch of the match, but did not do enough to get any kind of reaction.
