Borussia draws with Mainz, Bayern beats Cologne and wins the German for the 11th consecutive time

O Bayern Munchen won the title of Championship German for the 11th consecutive time – the 32nd in its history. For the last round, the team coached by Thomas Tuchel visited Cologne, at the RheinEnergieStadion, in Cologne (ALE), this Saturday, and won by 2-1. Coman and Musiala scored for the visitors, who still had Sané’s goal annulled, while Ljubicic (from the penalty spot) scored the home goal.

As well as the Borussia Dortmund drew 2-2 with Mainz 05 – goals scored by Olsen, Onisiwo, Raphael Guerreiro and Sule -, with Haller missing the penalty and in the middle of Signal Iduna Park, in Dortmund (ALE), the Bavarians reached 71 points, tied with the yellow rival, who stayed behind on goal difference.

Disputes by European leagues

Even with third place guaranteed, RB Leipzig beat relegated Schalke 04, by 4 to 2, at home, and reached 66 goals. Now, the Red Bull club fully turns its attention to the final of the German Cup, next Saturday (3), when it faces Frankfurt, at 3 pm (Brasília time), at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, in the German capital.

To close the G4 – classification zone for the next edition of the European Champions League -, the sensation Union Berlin beat Werder Bremen by 1 to 0, at home. With that, it added 62 units and confirmed the fourth position.

Freiburg faced Frankfurt itself, away from home, and suffered a 2-1 turnaround. Thus, it was left with 59 units, in fifth place. In addition to him, the other qualified for the Europa League, but this time in the qualifying stage, is Bayer Leverkusen, who even losing 3-0 away from home, to Bochum, was in sixth place, with 50 points. The opponent, in turn, reached the milestone of 35 goals and jumped from 16th to 14th, leaving Z3.

Finally, the German representative in the Conference League for the 2023/24 season is Frankfurt. With the triumph in the round, the club reached 50 goals, in seventh place.

If RB Leipzig is champion of the German Cup, it opens up another spot for the Europa League group stage. Therefore, Leverkusen would go straight to the keys, Frankfurt would secure itself in the preliminary round and, thus, Wolfsburg, eighth with 49 points, would be classified in the Conference League.

With Bochum’s triumph, who dropped to 16th place – a position that will dispute the relegation playoff against Hamburg, third in the German second division – was Stuttgart, who drew 1-1 with Hoffenheim, in front of their fans, and got 33 units.

Finally, the clubs that went directly down to Bundesliga 2 were Schalke 04, penultimate with 31 points, and Hertha Berlin, last with 29.
