The head of the Russian Biathlon Union Maygurov complained about the shortage and rise in the price of cartridges
President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Viktor Maigurov complained about the lack of ammunition for athletes. His words are quoted by Match TV.
Maigurov said that the main problem is their shortage and double price increase. The head of the RRF added that there are several companies that provide supplies of familiar imported cartridges, but due to changes in supply chains, this is also extremely expensive.
Maigurov stressed that at the same time, biathletes have not yet experienced problems with rifles, and the Russians continue to use German weapons. “There is some resource and margin of safety,” he summed up.
In October 2022, the biathlon tournament in Izhevsk went without shooting due to the fact that cartridges were not bought on time. The head of the Udmurt Biathlon Federation, Ivan Cherezov, explained that buying cartridges is not an easy task, and because of the tight deadlines, the organizers did not have time to purchase them.
